Arvada, CO Pedestrian and Bicycle TOD Access Plan
Charlier Associates, Inc. developed a Pedestrian and Bicycle Access Plan for three transit oriented development (TOD) sites being developed as part of the Denver region’s new FasTracks transit system. An existing BNSF freight corridor will accommodate the Gold Line commuter rail route as it traverses the southeastern part of Arvada. We assisted the City in developing a multi-tiered plan with the following components:
- Detailed access plans for TOD development areas within a 1/2-mile radius from each station
- Recommendations to create a system of primary bicycle corridors that link the stations together and connect to the citywide bicycle system
- Roadway cross-sections and implementation details for bicycle and pedestrian retrofit
- Spot improvement analyses of difficult roadway intersections and regional trail connections
- Prioritized action plan for successful implementation of plan components
